Death Valley National Park

So there are so many awesome places to see in Death Valley National Park and even being there like 4 times I still have stuff I haven’t seen.  But below are some of the places that I have seen so far.

Just click on the link above the picture to be able to read about the area in more detail.

Racetrack Playa – The Racetrack has rocks that move with no human or animal interaction.  The rocks move when ice sheets form and start to melt during periods of light winds. The thin floating ice panels create an ice shove that moves the rocks and creates the trail.

Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes – The largest dune field in Death Valley National Park. This dune field includes three types of dunes: crescent, linear, and star-shaped.

Wildrose Charcoal Kilns – These are Rock structures that were created to burn wood into coal and used for the Modock Mine smelter.  They were built in 1877.

Ubehebe Crater – Ubehebe Crater is a large volcanic crater 600 feet deep and half a mile across.

Old Stovepipe Wells – The waterhole which is the only one in the sand dune area of Death Valley was at the junction of two Indian trails.
