World’s Biggest Lemon in Lemon Grove

Worlds Biggest Lemon in Lemon Grove

So it was finally time to see the Worlds biggest Lemon.  I have always seen pictures and I only live 30 minutes away.  So I was driving back from seeing the Center of the World and the Desert View Tower.  So I drove to the corner of Broadway and Main St.  So the Lemon is weighing some 3000 pounds and it is approximately about 10 feet long and six feet wide.  It was designed by Lemon Grove architect Alberto Treganza.  The lemon was originally built for a parade float for the 1928 Fourth of July Fiesta de San Diego parade.  It carried the town’s first Miss Lemon Grove. Her name was Amorita Treganza who happened to be Alberto’s 16-year-old daughter.  Then in 1930, the float was plastered to create the permanent sculpture and is displayed by its current location.

So just right around the corner from the Worlds biggest Lemon is the Lemon Grove History Mural.  The mural is 65-feet wide by 18-feet tall.  It is located at 3308 Main St, Lemon Grove, CA 91945. It was painted by artists Katy Strzelecki and Janne LaValle
