Bird and Butterfly Garden

Butterfly on a flower at the Bird and Butterfly Garden in Tijuana River Valley Regional Park

So I went to the International Friendship Park inside Border Field State Park.  I was driving to go to the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve Visitor Center and I passed the Bird and Butterfly Garden.  So I pulled over and parked.  It was great, no one was there and it looked like a nice little hike.  I got out of the car and started walking around.  There was a good bit of butterflies flying around.  So I continued walking and I was happy I did.

Details:

  1. Free
  2. Very short trail
  3. Great place to have a packed lunch
  4. Located at Hollister St and Saturn Blvd

There were a couple different hummingbirds but I have to say that they are pretty quick and not just the easiest to get a picture of when they are in a garden park full of flowers.  They really like to move around and check everything out.  The flowers were everywhere.  It was really just a great walk.  Great place to be able to get out and smell the flowers and see the birds and butterflies flying around.
